Thanks so much to everyone that has helped us raise funds for Macmillan over the years, this is a message from Northamptonshire Macmillan Treasurer:
Here in Northamptonshire, Macmillan Cancer Support are working with Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust to extend and refurbish the haematology unit at Northampton General Hospital. Local people with haematological cancers, which affect the cells of the blood or lymphatic system, are currently treated in a building, which has not been improved or updated for many years. The environment in which people receive their diagnosis, treatment and follow up care makes a huge difference to their response to treatment and outlook for the future. Macmillan Cancer Support are proud to be involved in the creation of the new ‘Macmillan Haematology Unit’ which is being built during 2011at Northampton General Hospital. Macmillan Cancer Support needs to raise £1.55 million to fund this build to add to the £650,000 being invested by Northampton General Hospital.
